Tammy Abarno

Tammy has over twenty-five years’ experience of working in social care.  She has a diverse portfolio and a very respected track record of delivery and leadership.  

Tammy is a qualified and registered social worker and practises as an independent social worker.  She also teaches and trains across the UK as qualified teacher in higher education.  Tammy is also commissioned by organisations as a specialist management consultant in social work and quality management practice and has a strong track record in supporting many local Authorities and businesses with Adult Social Care Transformation, workforce development and cultural change.

Tammy also has experience of leading national teaching and workforce development programmes in social work and social care, supporting the Department of Health and Social Care and the Welsh Government with several learning and development initiatives and national workforce development plans.  She has also authored and co-authored various publications on social and health care. 

Tammy was very close to her grandmother who she became a carer for when her grandmother developed Alzheimer’s Disease and she is passionate about learning from lived experience and expertise.

Tammy’s hobbies are dog walking her two Border Terriers, enjoying her garden, reading and outdoor swimming.
