Overview
This one-day learning event is aimed at staff who work with children/ young people who are either self-harming, at risk of self-harming or have thought of taking their own life. The main purpose of the event is to allow discussion of the issues and how practitioners and those looking after children/young people can engage with those who self-harm or are thinking of suicide and effect positive change.Who is Working with Children and Young People Who Self-Harm aimed at?

- Understand the reasons young people self- harm or contemplate suicide.
- Understand how to respond to young people who self- harm and build resilience in them.
- Understand the role of social media and the internet in how children young people view self-harming.
- Understand how to assess harm and manage risk.
- Explore, understand, and reflect upon our own feelings towards self- harm and how they influence their practice.
