On completion of the course, participants will:-
- Understand the 6 guiding principles to trauma-informed approaches
- Have considered the three “E”’s of trauma i.e. events, experiences and effects
- Have explored how to work with the “four R’s” assumptions of trauma informed practice i.e. realisation, recognition of the signs of trauma, responding to trauma and resisting re-traumatisation
- Be familiar with a range of adverse childhood experiences and how these impact on children’s development. Recognising what is an ACE trauma
