Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course delegates will have:-

  • Learnt, practiced and understood a number of key systemic interventions for direct work with children and families.
  • Learn how to engage a family in a making a cultural genogram in order to explore the support they need
  • Used genograms to help the family to understand their history and change the narrative, identify areas of strength and support and any areas of vulnerability
  • Empowered the family to reflect on areas they wish to change, recognising patterns and scripts which have been handed down the generations
  • Created an open, meaningful relationship based on respect and understanding genograms can highlight where children are not being thought about or provided with the attention they need  it promotes professional curiosity
