OverviewChildren and young people use social media in many ways: as an integral part of their education, to connect with friends and peers, for entertainment, creativity, self-expression, and gaming. The internet is available at their fingertips 24/7 and at the touch of a button children and young people can access a diverse range of Apps, connect across the world, and share their life with anyone. However, and particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic, the NSPCC has reported a rise of online abuse, grooming and inappropriate images with figures reaching 2 million in one month.
