This one-day introductory programme of Social Care training Safeguarding Disabled Children aims to explore good practice in the protection of disabled children from abuse, and promote effective working together for all those concerned for their safety and welfare.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will be offered the opportunity to:- 

• Describe the particular circumstances which make disabled children vulnerable to abuse
• Assess the signs and indicators presented by disabled children who may have been subjected to abuse
• Explain the factors which may influence the threshold for intervention for disabled children
• Communicate more confidently with disabled children about abuse.
