Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course delegates will be able to:-

  • understand what contributes to and causes challenging behaviour
  • be able to explain how to promote alternative behaviour,
  • be able to explain key points from the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and national policy,
  • be able to describe how behaviour escalates and what to do as it does,
  • explain the policy and principles of restriction and physical intervention,
  • explain the importance of controlling our own behaviour,
  • have considered and reflected on your own practice

NB This course does NOT teach practical Physical Intervention skills
