By the end of the course delegates will be able to:-
- understand what contributes to and causes challenging behaviour
- be able to explain how to promote alternative behaviour,
- be able to explain key points from the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and national policy,
- be able to describe how behaviour escalates and what to do as it does,
- explain the policy and principles of restriction and physical intervention,
- explain the importance of controlling our own behaviour,
- have considered and reflected on your own practice
NB This course does NOT teach practical Physical Intervention skills
