Overview

The aim of this course is to increase awareness of Compassion fatigue and Moral Injury and how these affect practitioners in social care settings. This course focuses on the impact of working in high intensity, emotionally impactful working environments on practitioners. It considers trauma informed practice in relation to practitioners and how they can maintain resilience within chaotic work settings The day provides a foundation for taking active measures in maintaining resilience and self- care whilst considering the impact of the pandemic alongside working in settings that are demanding and quick changing

By the end of the session you will have:

  • Revisited your understanding of professional boundaries and how to reset and maintaining them
  • Considered concept of moral injury and the impact resulting from changes to working practice
  • Gained awareness of the concept of compassion fatigue and moral injury and how these are inevitable features of work in social care settings for both practitioners and managers
  • Discussed how to manage compassion fatigue and how to remain resilient in situations resulting in occupational stress
  • Be introduced to models of resilience and ways to develop and maintain resilience at work
