Overview
This course provides an opportunity for Practice Educators to reconnect with social work theory and consider how it can be used meaningfully in student learning, supervision, direct observations and assessment. Rather than treating theory as an academic add-on, the session supports Practice Educators to help students make clear links between theory, evidence, values, lived experience and professional decision-making. Participants will revisit a range of theoretical perspectives relevant to contemporary social work practice and explore how these can be drawn out through reflective questioning, supervision discussion and written feedback. The course also considers how Practice Educators can support students to move beyond description towards analysis, critical reflection and confident professional reasoning.Who is Revisiting Theory for Practice Educators aimed at?
