With over 20 years of experience as a children’s social worker and manager, Amy Mather has dedicated her career to supporting children and families, with a particular focus on adoption. Her work has spanned frontline practice, leadership, and service development, giving her a deep understanding of the challenges and rewards of social work. She has worked in both voluntary and local authority services.
Throughout Amy’s career, she has led and contributed to a range of developmental projects across multiple local authorities and within the family court system. A key part of this work has been the design and delivery of high-quality training, equipping professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to practice effectively and confidently. More recently, Amy has begun to work with newly qualified social workers, delivering specialist training on Court Skills and Understanding Neglect. Her approach is grounded in real-world experience, reflective practice, and a passion for lifelong learning.
