This programme aims to consider the needs of those members of the learning disabled population who are ageing. It examines the context for caring for older people with a learning disability, their needs and the specific challenges they face; the double jeopardy of being old and learning disabled; the particular vulnerability factors of this population to mental health problems in old age and the issues of supporting ageing carers.
