Overview
LGBTQ+ in health and social care is such an important subject to be covering. By completing this course it will enable you to support any LGBTQ+ individual within your services more effectively.
This course will cover the different areas of LGBTQ+, its history and discrimination as well as talking about stereotyping and heterosexual normality.
During the session you will be given a safe space to ask those questions that you may not want to ask in fear of getting it wrong or offending someone.
The course also covers person centred care planning and how to ensure that LGBTQ+ individuals are supported effectively

Half day or 1 Day depending upon the needs of the service

Learning Outcomes
By the end of this session participants will be able to:
- Explain what LGBTQ is
- How many different terminologies there are to describe individuals
- Know why having an awareness of LGBTQ is relevant in your work setting
- Be more aware of the challenges that LGBTQ individuals may face in their daily lives.
- Have more awareness of providing person centred support for LGBT+ individuals in your service.
