Overview

The aim of this training is to introduce the importance of controlling infections within the workplace through discussions, group activities, practical demonstrations and short film clips. Delegates will look at the impact infections can have on staff and those they care for. They will also learn about the various ways infections can be spread and the practical precautions they can take to help avoid this.

Who is Infection Control aimed at?

Adults working within the care sector in a variety of roles including: carers, nurses, cleaners, domiciliary carers, managers, chefs, kitchen assistants & office staff

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course delagtes will have:- 

  • A better understanding of what is meant by Infection Control & subsequent change of staff attitude & performance
  • Raised awareness of the legislation surrounding Infection Control & the impact on their job role
  • Improved understanding of the consequences of poor Infection Control in the workplace & subsequent raised staff self-confidence in their ability to provide a higher standard of care
  • Improved awareness of the different types of infection & how they are transmitted
  •  Lowered risk of cross-contamination & cross-infection in the workplace
