Course Outline
This course is designed to provide professionals working with children and families a good understanding of the terms, effects and principles of Special Guardianship Orders. Delegates are introduced to the legislation and regulations and are provided with a detailed analysis as to how that legislation impacts upon decision making and best practice in the real world. The course also includes in depth consideration of the role of the Local Authority, an analysis of the construction of the âSGO reportâ in the context of the court decision making process and an examination of the often controversial requirements of the âsupport packageâ. There is an update of recent relevant case law, regulations and policy
