Private Fostering

Overview

A Local Authority has a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of privately fostered children under the Children’s Act 2004.  Private foster care is when a child is cared for by an adult who is not a close relative, for more than 28 days. This awareness course will give delegates the tools to recognise and handle a private fostering arrangement.
