
Falls prevention in older people
Course Outline
Older people frequently fall, up to 35% result in serious injury and up to 8% in fractures. (SCIE research briefing 1: Preventing falls in care homes). Falls prevention is about eliminating or reducing the risk of physical and psychological harm associated with falls in older people. In this course delegates will look at why older people fall, the risk factors and what can be done to reduce those risks.
