Julia is a registered social worker and Best Interests Assessor with over 25 years experience working in adult social care services in both the private and voluntary sectors.
Julia has most recently worked as a social work manager in quality assurance and safeguarding for a local authority. Over the last 12 years in this role she has developed training on a wide range of subjects including domestic abuse, mental capacity and inherent jurisdiction, and supporting bereaved families, and delivered to a wide range of professionals including social workers, occupational therapists and police. She has also worked closely with her local universities and delivered practice orientated teaching to social work students.
Julia now works as an associate trainer and as an independent chair and author of domestic homicide and safeguarding adult reviews.She has a particular interest in matters relating to mental capacity, safeguarding and domestic abuse but has also delivered training on effective case recording, report writing, and the social care response to major emergencies/incidents.
