Description of course:
“Best training ever! This will definitely be useful in my work with clients.”
(Social Support Worker, Lancashire)
Cognitive Behavioural Techniques (CBT) are well recognised therapeutic approaches for a range of both emotional and physical health problems. CBT involves a range of techniques that aim to recognise and challenge types of thinking and behaviours that cause us difficulty. There unfortunately exists a somewhat ‘elitist’ attitude amongst many that it is a specialist intervention that requires many years of training and practice. However, in recent times it has also been recognised that CBT skills can be learned easily, can be applied in short consultations and in day-to-day relationships and experiences by almost anyone.
This course provides the introductory framework, based on valued CBT models, to enable delegates to understand and apply basic principles. CBT is also used as a self-development tool and can improve self-esteem and assertiveness.
