Course Outline

This two day highly participative workshop is open to anyone wishing to improve their interviewing skills. Whether they be employment or performance interviews the workshop will assist participants to develop a structure to interviewing as well utilise excellent communication skills.

The workshop can operate to a maximum of 12 delegates.

By the end of the workshop participants will have:-

– Considered the purpose of the different types of interview.

– Examined the damage of poor interviews.

– Developed an understanding of the component parts of an interview

– Understood the pressure on interviewees and considered how to put people at their ease.

– Practised being both an interviewee and an interviewer.

– Considered the role of note taking in an interview and have written up interview notes.

– Examined the role of presentations, exercises and psychometric tests sometimes used within employment interviews.

– Taken part in an interview panel, either as an interviewer or as an interviewee.

– Developed communication skills essential to interviewing.

– Practised handling difficult people during interviews.

– Adopted a personal action plan to develop learning back in the workplace
