Dealing with Discipline & Grievances Effectively
This session is designed to help line managers identify strategies and approaches to managing cases as well as providing background on the employment law basics. Using the ACAS code of practice as a starting point for understanding what best practice looks like, dealing with discipline and grievances will give the learner the opportunity to work through real life case studies in a safe environment.
On completion of dealing with discipline and grievances effectively, learners will be able to:
- Manage all disciplinary and grievance cases in line with best practice and employment law
- Understand their responsibilities under the law to ensure all cases are handled fairly.
- Differentiate between cases that are likely misconduct and those that are likely gross misconduct
- Apply principles of reasonableness when making decisions in discipline and grievance cases.
This course can be run as a single half-day session of 4 hours or run together as a full day session with any of the other HR topics
