Learning Outcomes
  • Test and learn basic information about alcohol
  • Understand the range of alcohol consumption patterns and definitions of problematic alcohol use
  • Gain knowledge about the different stages people can be at in terms of changing their drinking behaviour
  • Gain a basic understanding of the effects of alcohol on the body, short and longer term
  • Understand the interaction of alcohol with prescribed medication
  • Consider the reasons that older people drink alcohol in relation to wider alcohol use
  • Understand and demonstrate good practice related to talking to older people about their alcohol use
