STRESS in the workplace affects increasing numbers of the working population. Symptoms of stress can be subtle at first and as a result may go undetected whilst the problem escalates, posing a serious health hazard for employees and costing UK employers millions of pounds in lost productivity. A key factor in the effective management of stress is awareness by both employee and employer. This ‘ Stressence’ series is designed to offer health and public sector employees a range of practical and enjoyable workshops on these key aspects:

  • AN INTRODUCTION TO STRESS MANAGEMENT: Half day course for senior managers, charged with introducing stress management procedures into their their Trust/Authority’. Designed to introduce them to the structure and content of a stress management programme, define critical legal issues, evaluate recognissed techniques and strategies and to be able to assess the options available.
    Suitable for HR/Personnel/Occupational Health Managers.

  • RELEASING STRESS THROUGH RELAXATION: Half day course designed to provide attendees with a number of effective relaxation tools that can be used anytime, anywhere and in any situation to reduce stess. Training for Trainers day available - empower managers and supervisors to train their staff in these techniques Suitable for all staff.

  • MANAGING ANGER: Half day course designed to raise levels of awareness about the nature of habitual anger responses and how this affects an individual, to reduce the emotional and physical arousal that anger causes and provide individuals with strategies and tools to learn to control knee-jerk behavioural reactions to anger responses.
    Suitable for all staff.

  • STRESS STRATEGIES FOR MANAGERS: Half day course designed to equip managers with the knowledge and tools they need to enable them to play a key role in the management of workplace stress including legal implications, risk assessment and essential tools for reducing stress.
    Suitable for all Managers/Supervisors.

  • INCREASING PERSONAL STRESS AWARENESS: A 1-day course designed to raise individual levels of awareness and understanding regarding the effects of stress in their lives.
    Suitable for all staff.

  • THINKING SKILLS TO OPTIMISE PERFORMANCE: A 1-day course using Cognitive Therapy skills, designed to help individuals to alleviate the negative thinking skills which are the most common internal source of stress.
    Suitable for all staff.

  • MANAGING STRESS FOR PEAK PERFORMANCE: Half day course designed to alleviate the stress common in Interview candidates. The ability to effectively manage this stress before and during the interview is certainly one of the key factors. Anxiety and nervousness can erode performance and inhibit the display of one’s true level of competence.
    Suitable for all staff.

JANE BRENDGEN, BMus, HDE, Dip. Stress Management is a trainer & coach with many years of experience in the training sector.
